The La Roche women's cross country team was once again led by freshman standout Alecia Kidder, who exceeded expectations by running a strong 28:35 for the 6,000 meter (3.8 mile) distance. Kidder finished 20th overall out of 63 runners, a very impressive achievement, particular for a freshman runner. Kidder ran a speedy 7:41 per mile pace for each of the nearly 4 miles. The second La Roche women's runner was senior Hillary Sandzimier, who had a strong run to finish in 42nd place in a time of 32:13. This is Hillary's personal best time for this 6,000 meter distance; she clearly has been gaining in running strength and pacing ability this season. Rounding out the La Roche women runners was sophomore Christina Shields, who finished in 60th place with a solid time of 37:40. This is Shield's first cross country season, and it was her first crack at this 6,000 meter distance, with promising results.
