PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Lady Redhawks (23-4, 16-2) clinched their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance beating Medaille (22-4, 16-2) 62-54 in the AMCC Tournament Championship at Coach Scott Lang Court.
The Lady Redhawks trailed by as many as 8 points in the first half before making a run to cut the deficit to 31-28 at the half. Chantelle Jennings led La Roche with 12 points and Jessica Pitts added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the first half.
The Lady Redhawks opened up a second half lead by dominating in the paint. Pitts finished with 10 points in the paint, 7 rebounds, and 4 key blocks in the second half.
La Roche recorded 28 points in the paint and 36 rebounds including 11 on the offensive boards.
Jennings finished with a game-high 23 points including an 8 for 8 performance from the foul line. Pitts had 17 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks and Ariel Green added 11 points.
La Roche Women's Basketball will be holding a NCAA Tournament Selection Show party on Monday at 3:00PM on Coach Scott Lang Court. They will find out both their matchup and location on Monday.
