Redhawks Fall On Road To Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – La Roche volleyball traveled for the first time in the 2025 season, taking on Franciscan. In the end, it was the Barons coming out on top, 3-0.

Set one was dead even through the first 22 points of the set, as the score sat even at 11-11.

Franciscan would come out of that score with a 7-1 run, opening an 18-12 lead and would move on to win the set, 25-17.

Set two was again dead even for the majority of the time, as the score sat tied at 17-17 this go-around.

Once again, the Barons would find a rhythm to break the tie, scoring eight of the final 11 points to win 25-20 and go ahead 2-0 in the match.

The final set was all Franciscan, jumping ahead 12-2 and moving on to finish the match with a 25-8 victory.

For the Redhawks, Olivia Sickmiller led the offense with six kills, while Estelle Winck dished out 15 assists.

On the defensive side, Kaci DePalma led the team with 17 digs, while Mackenzie Myers contributed 10.

La Roche is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 13 in a tri-match hosted by Chatham. The Redhawks face the Cougars to open the day at 12 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match against Lycoming.
