Volleyball Selected Fifth In AMCC Preseason Poll

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – La Roche volleyball was selected fifth in the 2025 AMCC Preseason Poll, released by the conference on Tuesday.

The Redhawks finished last season with an 11-11 overall record and a 3-5 mark in AMCC play, earning the #6 seed in the AMCC Volleyball Tournament.

Last year was the second straight .500 or better season for La Roche and it was the 10th straight postseason for the Redhawks.

La Roche, for the second straight year, will deal with a roster overhaul. After losing 10 players going into last season, another eight players have moved on, including record setting players in Quinn Hughes and Mackenzie Kerkan, as well as All-AMCC selection, Kylie Fehlman.

The losses created room for six newcomers to join the team in 2025.

The Redhawks will look to rebuild an offense that does bring back two of their top three kill leaders, including Preseason Player to Watch and All-AMCC selection, Kallie Grine and fellow senior, Megan Bologna.

Setting will see a change, as the top three setters, including Brooke Bednarski's team leading 502 have moved on.

Defensively, Grine will be the returning leader after 58 total blocks last season, but the other three in the top four are no longer in the red and white.

Furthermore, the top two in digs have moved on, but both Grine and Bologna came through with over 100 each last season.

Penn State Behrend earned the top spot of the poll, followed by Penn State Altoona, Alfred State and Mt. Aloysius to round out the top four ahead of La Roche.

Rounding out the poll is Hilbert, Pitt-Greensburg, Pitt-Bradford and Carlow.

La Roche's regular season begins on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. as the Redhawks welcome Bethany for the home opener inside the Kerr Fitness Center.
