Redhawks Season Concludes In AMCC Tournament First Round

ALFRED, N.Y. - La Roche women's soccer saw its 2025 season come to a close on Saturday evening, as the #6 seed Redhawks fell to the #3 seed, Alfred State Pioneers, 3-0, in the AMCC Tournament's First Round.

It took nearly 30 minutes for what would be the game winning goal to be scored, as Alfred State netted the game's first goal at 27:51 of the first half and would hold that lead until through halftime.

Still in the contest in the late stages of the match, the Redhawks tried to fight back, but the Pioneers would score a pair of goals in 2:52 at 80:58 and 83:50 to punctuate the victory.

Chances were few for La Roche, being held to just three shots on the night, all of which were on goal.

Julianna Hornikel, in her final match between the pipes for the Redhawks, provided 15 saves in the match, while Zaida Gonzalez Rosado, also in her final match with La Roche, had two of the three shots.

The Redhawks conclude the 2025 season with an overall record of 5-8-3, but will look to take the next step in 2026, as they will return the majority of the starting lineup.
