NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – La Roche women's soccer was selected fifth in the 2025 AMCC Preseason Poll, released by the conference on Monday.
The Redhawks finished last season with a 4-11-2 overall record and a 2-4-2 mark in AMCC playing, earning them the #5 seed in the AMCC Women's Soccer Tournament.
La Roche returns one of its two All-AMCC selections in Third Teamer, Grace Motuk, a Preseason Player to Watch selection.
The Redhawks return 50% of their offensive production from 2024, as 10 of the 20 goals scored will take the field in 2025, led by leading goal scorer, Zaida Gonzalez Rosado, who scored four last season.
Defensively, La Roche allowed 39 goals on the season and ended the year with three clean sheets. Julianna Hornikel returns for her senior year and fourth season as starting keeper, as well as Danielle Dominick, who shared time with Hornikel last season. Kiki Nemcek will lead the defensive unit once again, as the junior also was named a Preseason Player to Watch.
Two-time defending champion, Penn State Behrend earned the top spot in the poll, followed by Pitt-Greensburg, Penn State Altoona, Mt. Aloysius and Alfred State to round out the top five.
With the Redhawks in sixth, the remainder of the poll is slated by Pitt-Bradford, Carlow and Hilbert
La Roche's regular season kicks off on Friday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. as the Redhawks host Thiel.
