Redhawks Win Low Scoring Battle Over Ursuline

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche women's lacrosse added another victory to the win column on Saturday, taking down Ursuline, 4-1, in a low scoring matchup.

The Redhawks did much of the damage in the in the first 6:36 of play, scoring three of their four goals in that span.

Alecia D'Urso started the scoring 1:13 into the contest, followed by a Nicole Schroeder goal just 2:50 later. Madalynn Dembrowski would net the third goal, a player up, at 8:24 remaining in the first.

No goal was scored until Ursuline netted its lone goal just 54 seconds into the third, then in the fourth, Dembrowski scored her second to close the scoring.

Julianna Hornikel was strong in goal, stopping 10 of 11 shots faced. D'Urso and Finnleigh Gould led the team with four shots each, while four players collected four ground balls and Kiki Nemcek led in caused turnovers with six.

La Roche has two weeks off before taking on Trinity (D.C.) on Saturday, Mar. 21 at 3 p.m.
