WHITEWATER, Wis. – Tuesday morning, the La Roche women's bowling team was honored for its academic success for the second straight year by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA). The Redhawks, in their second year as a program, earned a spot on the NTCA's 2020-21 All-Academic Team.
The NTCA recognizes NCAA bowling teams that excel academically each year. Programs must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year. For the 2020-21 academic school year, a record 59 bowling programs achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher.
La Roche's women's bowling program compiled a cumulative team GPA of 3.366 during the 2020-21 academic year. The team has averaged 3.58 GPA through their first two years. The complete list of 2021 team honorees can be viewed HERE.
In addition, four Redhawks earned individual NTCA All-Academic status including sophomore Ashley Kennedy (Warminster, PA/William Tennent HS), freshman Ashley Krivansky (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), sophomore Kayla Hatzis (New Brighton, PA/Riverside) and senior Isabelle Orange (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe).
This year there were 385 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 63 schools. A student-athlete must have cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award.
