PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche men's soccer won its third straight game for the first since 2019, defeating Westminster, 2-0 on Wednesday.
The Redhawks wasted little time jumping in front, as Abdul Basit Suleman found the back of the net at 8:53 off a free-kick for what would be the game-winning goal of the afternoon.
The insurance goal came at 21:15, when Jack Sadler connected with Phillip Hawkins to move the red and white ahead 2-0, a score that stood until halftime and through the second half.
The shot total ended in favor of La Roche, 10-7, with shots on goal also on the side of the Redhawks, 7-1.
La Roche concludes its five-game home stand to open the season on Saturday, Sept. 13, when they welcome Bethany for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
