Redhawks Take On Muddy Course at AMCC Championships

IRVING, NY -- The La Roche men's and women's cross country teams competed in the AMCC Championships on Saturday morning at Engola State Park. The men's cross country team placed sixth and the women's cross country team placed eighth. 

The men got things going on a wet and muddy 8K course at 11am. Kieran Hunt paced himself well running a 32:17 and averaging a 6:30 mile. Johnny Nicholson crossed the finish line at 33:55 and Patrick Dailey followed shortly behind at 34:46. Bryan Gatto ran an excellent final race placing thirty-fourth with a 36:51 while Chris Ebbert rounded out the top five with a career-best 40:37. Lorenz Ryce finished in 40:58 and Eoin Cushey in 45:08.

Andrea Luciano concluded her spectacular career with 28:52 and a twenty-fifth place finish. Luciano missed her personal best by just four seconds on the muddy course. Andie Lippman ran a terrific first race placing thirty-fifth with a 32:22. Devin Kelly ran her fastest 6K of the season with a 33:07 and Seirra Anderson followed at 36:16. Devan Smith (40:03) and Keesha Stuart (46:07) ran strong races in the tough conditions.
