PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche men's soccer (8-4-1, 2-2-1) could not hold a one goal halftime lead against AMCC Conference leader, Pitt Bradford (4-5-2, 4-0-1), as the game ended in a 1-1 draw at the La Roche Soccer Field.
Freshman striker, Andrew Danylo, gave the host Redhawks a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when he buried his second goal of the season. Panthers' goalkeeper Adam Forster tried to clear the ball but Danylo ran through the attempt and tapped it home.
La Roche dominated play throughout regulation but Pitt Bradford forced overtime when Nicholas Walker scored on a breakaway goal late in the second half.
The Redhawks outshot Pitt Bradford 6-4 but could not find the back of the net in overtime. The draw is La Roche's first of the season.
La Roche goalkeeper, Michael Brunozzi, made a season-high eleven saves including five on AMCC Conference goals leader, Toby Abdul-Razaq.
The Redhawks return to action on Wednesday when they host NCAA Division II opponent Pitt-Johnstown. Last season, La Roche fell to the Mountain Cats 4-0 in Johnstown, PA.
