Reykdal and Thouin Combine For 12 Points in Win Over Thiel

PITTSBURGH, PA – Dustin Reykdal scored a season-high 5 goals on 14 shots as La Roche Men's Lacrosse (3-7) defeated Thiel College (2-6) 19-15 giving the Redhawks their second consecutive win over Thiel.

La Roche and Thiel were deadlocked at 12-12 before Jean-Guillaume Thouin and Mike DiMarco scored goals to go up two in the third quarter. The host Tomcats answered with a goal to cut the deficit to one, but Thouin and Blaine Shaffner added goals to take control of the game.

Dustin Reykdal led the Redhawks with 5 goals and 2 assists and Jean-Guillaume Thouin added 3 goals and 2 assists. Mike Kenski and Bryce Wells registered 3 goals apiece and Wells scooped up a season-high eleven ground balls on defense. Mike DiMarco and Jon Monahan recorded 2 goals each and Blaine Shaffner finished with a goal and 2 assists. DiMarco won 16 of 31 faceoffs and Eugene LaBorde made 10 saves.

The Redhawks outshot Thiel College 59-42 and 34-14 in the second and third quarters. La Roche also converted 27 of 30 clears and went 3 for 7 with an extra man.

La Roche Men's Lacrosse returns to campus on Saturday when they host Ohio Valley University. Last season the Redhawks beat Ohio Valley 22-2.
