PITTSBURGH, PA – Three Redhawks recorded double-doubles as La Roche Men's Basketball (9-2) defeated Carnegie Mellon (4-6) 74-66 in a non-conference game at the Kerr Fitness Center. It is La Roche's second consecutive victory over the Tartans.
The Redhawks opened the second half on a 19-5 run after playing a closely contested first twenty minutes. Joel McIntosh led the charge with 10 second half points and Derek Barber-Richards and Mike Dixon each had 8 points in the final frame.
Dixon (18 points, 11 rebounds), Andre Flanigan (13 points, 10 rebounds), and David Jackson (10 points, 10 rebounds) each finished with a double-double and McIntosh had a game-high 20 points. The Redhawks outrebounded Carnegie Mellon 47-25 including a 17-4 performance on the offensive boards. La Roche also outscored the Tartans in the paint (48-24) and off second chance points (17-5).
La Roche returns to action on Wednesday, January 4th when they travel to AMCC Conference Rival, Penn State Altoona. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00PM.
