Redhawks Open AMCC Conference Play With Sweep of Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA – La Roche College Baseball (5-11, 2-0) used quality starts from Cole Lentz and James Connelly to sweep Pitt-Bradford (4-12, 0-2) 4-2, 9-2 in their AMCC Conference opener on Sunday.

Lentz recorded the Game 1 win and allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 batters in 5 2/3 innings. Jesse Bauer tossed a scoreless 1 1/3 innings in relief to register his first career save.

Casey Zimmerman paced the offense with 2 hits, 2 RBI, and a stolen base and Mitchell Meyers scored twice and added a stolen base.

Game 2 starter, James Connelly, climbed into fourth place on La Roche Baseball's all-time wins list with his second win of the season. Connelly allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 4 2/3 innings before Walt Hadjuk and Jesse Bauer combined for 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Matt Sabitini went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI and Ed Skonieczny finished with 3 hits and scored twice. Casey Zimmerman collected two RBI and Sean Lubin stole two bases in the win.

La Roche Baseball will return to John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field tomorrow when they take on Allegheny College in a single, nine-inning game. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30PM.
